About

Hi and welcome to my homepage/blog! I am a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniela Mier (@DanielaMier1980) at the SOBRALab (@SobraLab) of the University of Konstanz. Before becoming a PhD student, I did my B.Sc. in Psychology at the University of Konstanz and my M.Sc. in Forensic Psychology at Maastricht University. In between, I completed several research internships in Budapest, Zurich, Munich, and Oxford. Oh, and I am an alumni of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.

My research interests include psychopathy, empathy, emotion regulation, and risk assessment. In my dissertation, I investigate empathy deficits and emotion dysregulation in individuals who offend. I am also an R enthusiast, a firm believer in open science, and love doing meta-analyses. In my free time, I do Judo.

My goal is to regurlarly (whatever that means) publish short blog posts on this homepage. They will focus mainly on the intersection of forensic and clinical psychology. Mostly stemming from my own research. Occasionally, though, I’ll post about more technical stuff, such as how to use obsidian.md to keep track of all your notes. So keep posted if that sounds interesting to you!

Since I care deeply about the accuracy of my blog posts, I will always use a mitigated peer review process where another expert in the field reviews my drafts before they go live. In this way, I hope to achieve a high standard of quality.

If you happen to be a student at the University of Konstanz (or are just interested in what’s going on in our lab), I recommend taking a look at the Project page. Maybe you would like to participate in one of our studies or write your thesis in one of our projects?
